Locust Cider Show Summary (August 24, 2024)

We played the third and final summer show at Locust Cider in Gig Harbor on August 24th.  The first show in June was rainy and cold, the second show in July was really warm, and this time it was closer to “just right”.  It was a nice sunny day and we had a good crowd on hand.  Thanks to everyone who showed up.  Despite a few technical glitches, we had a great time and it was a lot of fun.

We invested in some stage setup enhancements including our new banner as well as more lighting.  One of the things we noticed in watching the videos from July is that the light bars were a good feature but they were difficult to see so we added more and moved them to the back of the stage.  We also thought that the big blank wall behind us just was asking for a banner so we added that as well.

We also have expanded our setlist.  We played a full 22 song set that filled the two-hour slot and we debuted two new original songs among 10 original songs (plus our band introduction).  It has been a goal of ours to focus on original music and we have dramatically increased our ratio of new to covers.  We plan to record some of our original music in the fall so we hope, at future shows, to be able to play original songs and have recordings available as well.

We are going to use the fall to add more songs and we are working on a recording so we hope to see you at a future show with new music!
